'My 60-year-old mother was fired from her job for the most unethical reason:' Grandson stands up for fired grandmother

A Redditor recently shared a story about their mother getting fired from a position she absolutely adored for the most unethical reason. When you love your job, show up on time, and handle all your obligations, it's normal to believe you have job security without worrying about getting canned at any moment.

Unfortunately, one 60-year-old woman was hit with a massive surprise that seemingly came out of left field. Her son explained that while she and her coworker were working together in their office, a customer entered seeking help. The coworker said she'd help him in a minute, so OP's mother shifted focus back to her own obligations. Unfortunately, the customer ended up storming out after less than a minute – and made a complaint to corporate.

The following Monday, OP's mother was called into the office and fired on the spot for failing to acknowledge the customer. The reason this is so shocking is that she received a positive review from her management team just a week prior. On top of that, there were no disciplinary procedures leading up to the loss of her job. At 60 years old, she was so proud of her position! The entire situation comes across as incredibly unethical.
